Lee Price creates realistic oil paintings, that show women and food in their intimate and private settings. The pictures are self-portraits of her, getting excessive with food that is considered indulgent, forbidden, or comforting. Her works addresses the intersections of food with body image, addiction, and unabating desire.

Works by Jason Walker

This is who I have an apprenticeship with at the studio I go to (which is the studio in this picture). His work is amazing and I am so excited to get to learn anything I can from working with Jason and helping him with his large scale projects.

I’ve been meaning to post the work of Jason Walker, but someone beat me to it.

Johnson Tsang’s Unusual Ceramics
Hong Kong-based ceramicist Johnson Tsang creates sculptures that deceptively appear to capture clay throttling through space. His figures look as if they are being flung into one another and poured out from various vessels, becoming as malleable as the material they were originally sculpted from. The exaggerated characters bounce around with dynamic motion, sometimes surprising viewers with their sense of humor. Take a look at some of Johnson Tsang’s work below.

Richard Mosse - Nomads (2009)
“The monumental images in Nomads, taken with a large-format camera in the Iraqi desert, show cars so riddled with bullets that only their mangled shells are left. Both series are self-conscious about the limitations of reportage – the destroyed cars left abandoned on the field of battle don’t attempt to picture the war’s immediate drama, but they do evoke its human victims.
Mosse sees his work as operating between the two poles of contemporary art and photojournalism: ‘The documentary photographer has a terribly difficult life compared with the conceptual artist. But, like Prometheus and Loki, we’re both tied to the same rock.’”
